BEFORE YOU BUY

Prop Firm Rules to Check Before Buying

A discount is useful only when you understand the account you are purchasing. Check billing, drawdown, account stages and payout conditions together.

The purchase checklist

CheckQuestion to resolve
BillingOne-time access, a recurring subscription, or an older product?
DrawdownTracked intraday or at end of day, and does unrealised profit count?
Daily loss limitDoes it pause trading or close the account, and for which stage?
ActivationIs another fee due after passing? Does the coupon cover it?
Reset or replacementCan you reset the account, and what does a new attempt cost?
Activity and expiryWhen does access end, and can inactivity close the account?
PayoutsWhat buffer, trading-day requirement, cap and split apply?
Trading restrictionsWhich news, overnight, weekend or copy-trading restrictions apply?

Same nominal size, different loss allowance

My Funded Futures’ Builder guide lists two 50K options with different fees and maximum-loss allowances. The cheaper purchase is a different risk constraint. Compare the named option, rather than the account label alone.

A recurring fee can outlast a failed account

Topstep’s official subscription documentation says billing continues until passing or cancellation. Include the expected number of paid periods in your comparison.

  • Qualification Option1 drawdownOption 1 tracks the highest real-time account equity, including unrealized profit and commissions. The loss threshold can rise with new highs and never moves downward.Official source ↗
  • Qualification Option2 drawdown/DLLOption 2 updates drawdown after the session using the highest closing balance. Its daily loss limit is $500/$1,100/$2,200/$3,300 for 25K/50K/100K/150K; reaching it pauses trading for the session without failing the account.Official source ↗
  • Qualification Option2 scalingOption 2 contract limits rise and fall with cash above the starting balance. Starting limits are 2/2/3/5 minis and maximum limits are 3/7/12/15 for 25K/50K/100K/150K; intermediate scaling tiers apply.Official source ↗
  • Regular Master riskRegular Master drawdown stops at the starting balance plus $100. For Option 2, the daily loss limit is removed when the drawdown locks, while contract scaling continues.Official source ↗
  • Fast Track EOD exceptionsFast Track EOD has no contract scaling. Its daily loss limit remains active for the account’s life, except the 25K account has no daily loss limit. Both Fast Track models lock drawdown at the starting balance plus $100.Official source ↗
  • Momentum qualification rulesMomentum qualification has no minimum trading days or consistency requirement, but reaching the target and complying with risk rules is still necessary. EOD has no contract scaling, and qualification profit does not transfer to Momentum Master.Official source ↗
  • Session/holdingQualification and regular Master sessions run from 5:00 PM CT to 4:00 PM CT the next day. Close all positions by 3:59 PM CT; overnight holding is prohibited.Official source ↗
  • Momentum holdingClose all Momentum positions before the session ends. Overnight and weekend positions are prohibited.Official source ↗
  • News tradingFast Track permits news trading within drawdown and position-size limits, including CPI, FOMC and NFP, without news blackout windows.Official source ↗
  • Professional data extrasNon-professional exchange data is included. Professional status adds $116 per month for CME Group exchange data; the declared status is locked for the account’s life.Official source ↗
  • Third-party API/composite software extraThe Qualification rules state a $100 monthly fee when connecting to Rithmic through a Third-Party API or Trader Composite Software. Confirm whether your chosen setup triggers this additional charge.Official source ↗
  • Regular Master resetA regular Master reset can be requested through support. The fee is calculated individually for the account; no fixed public amount is confirmed.Official source ↗
  • Master activation deadlinePay the regular Master activation fee within seven days after its activation link is issued. Time waiting in the Master queue does not start this deadline.Official source ↗
  • Account capOne trader profile may hold up to five active Master-level accounts in any combination of regular Master, Fast Track and Momentum Master. Qualification accounts are unlimited.Official source ↗
  • Billing cancellationCurrent account fees are paid once. Accounts expire at the end of their access period without automatic renewal or recurring account charges.Official source ↗
  • Fast Track EOD daily loss limits25K has no DLL; 50K / 100K / 150K have $1,200 / $2,500 / $3,300 limits. These are Fast Track limits, separate from Qualification.Official source ↗
  • Momentum EOD daily loss limits25K / 50K / 100K / 150K have $600 / $1,200 / $2,500 / $3,300 limits. Do not substitute Qualification’s DLL table.Official source ↗

Lucid Trading

  • Flex DLL customizationChoose Daily Loss Limit On or Off when buying Flex. On has a lower evaluation price, Off costs more, and the setting cannot be changed on an active account. Current configuration-specific reference and advertised coupon prices are recorded in the fee table.Official source ↗
  • Pro DLL customizationChoose Daily Loss Limit On or Off when buying Pro. On has a lower evaluation price, Off costs more, and the setting cannot be changed on an active account. Current configuration-specific reference and advertised coupon prices are recorded in the fee table.Official source ↗
  • Flex evaluationFlex evaluation uses 50% consistency with a two-day pass path. It is a one-time purchase with no monthly rebilling or funded activation fee; an optional daily loss limit is available at checkout.Official source ↗
  • Pro evaluationPro evaluation can be passed in one trading day after meeting all objectives. It is a one-time purchase with no monthly rebilling and no fee to activate the funded account.Official source ↗
  • Flex drawdownFlex uses EOD trailing drawdown: $1,000/$2,000/$3,000/$4,500 for 25K/50K/100K/150K. The floor ultimately locks at the starting balance plus $100; a payout request also sets it to that locked floor. Reaching the floor breaches the account.Official source ↗
  • Pro drawdownPro uses EOD trailing drawdown: $1,000/$2,000/$3,000/$4,500 for 25K/50K/100K/150K. The floor locks at the starting balance plus $100 after the initial trail is reached; touching the floor breaches the account.Official source ↗
  • Direct drawdownDirect uses EOD trailing drawdown: $1,000/$2,000/$3,500/$5,000 for 25K/50K/100K/150K. The floor ultimately locks at the starting balance plus $100; reaching the floor breaches the account.Official source ↗
  • Flex scalingFlex has no evaluation contract scaling. Funded accounts start at 1/2/3/4 minis for 25K/50K/100K/150K and can scale to 2/4/6/10 as profits grow. Limits update after the session and can fall when the profit balance declines, including after payouts.Official source ↗
  • Pro DLLThe dedicated DLL article lists no DLL for 25K and fixed limits of $1,200/$1,800/$2,700 for 50K/100K/150K. Eligible funded accounts later use 60% of peak EOD account profit. The 25K funded page instead lists $600, so confirm that configuration’s terms.Official source ↗
  • Direct DLLDirect has no DLL at 25K; fixed limits are $1,200/$2,100/$3,000 at 50K/100K/150K. After the initial trail is exceeded, the DLL becomes 60% of peak EOD account profit and does not decrease. DLL hits are soft breaches; contract size has no scaling plan.Official source ↗
  • News tradingFlex, Pro and Direct allow entry and exit around news events within all other rules. LucidDaily is different: trading red-folder news is a hard breach.Official source ↗
  • Simulated session closeClose Flex, Pro and Direct positions by 4:45 PM EST, Monday–Friday, using the official article’s time wording. Positions are automatically closed then without failing the account; trading resumes at 6:00 PM EST, Sunday–Thursday. Follow earlier market closes on holidays.Official source ↗
  • Supported platformsCQG supports NinjaTrader, Tradovate and TradingView. Rithmic supports MotiveWave, Quantower, Tradesea, Sierra Chart, Jigsaw, Bookmap, ATAS, R|Trader Pro and MultiCharts. Platform support does not confirm equal purchase prices or third-party license costs.Official source ↗

Flex, Pro and Daily reset fees are recorded separately for each configuration; Direct reset pricing remains unconfirmed. • Daily evaluation configurationsLucidDaily offers EOD or Intraday drawdown, each with DLL ON or OFF at 25K/50K/100K/150K. Maximum size is 2/4/6/10 minis or 20/40/60/100 micros, with 50% evaluation consistency.Official source ↗
  • Advertised price boundariesThe table separates the crossed-out reference price from the advertised coupon price. DLL ON includes the displayed intermediate price and a further fixed-dollar reduction; DLL OFF has no additional ON reduction.
